I'm surprised no one else has mentioned this, perhaps I got an untreated lemon but my caddy began to develop black mold within a month. I returned it and replaced it because I simply love the way this caddy looks... and I'd even go so far as to say that it makes my bath feel like a tropical vacation. I coated the new one with two layers of poly-urethane before it was exposed to water and it still managed to develop mold over time in certain areas.I'm baffled that no one else has had this experience. Can anyone confirm that in fact you have not?

This is the BEST shower caddy I've ever owned (and that would be at least 7 or 8 over the years). I love the silicone "grippies" that line the hook at the top. It hasn't slipped once. The shelves are roomy enough, and the distance between the top shelf and next shelf accommodates relatively tall bottles. The minimal use of metals means that I am sure this will last a long, long time. I owned two other shower caddies before this one, one hanger-style like this one, one tension bar-style. Both were coated metal, both seemed fine, both rusted and made WAY more of a mess than would have been made by just leaving our shampoo/conditioner/soap/razors/etc on the rim of the tub.(as many people do)First, this caddy is expensive. I know that there are $120-some caddies listed, but if you're in the market for those, you probably should have had your bathroom furnished better for that kind of money. This item is actually worthy of it's pricetag. Not too much more, but the price is fair.
The construction is solid, I was not careful moving it into my new place, bumped it into walls a couple times with it poking out of the moving box, and I'm certain it was not harmed. All of the shelves are solid, the metal is seated well, and the rubbery bits (the suction cup and the hook rubber) were both in no danger of being ripped out.
It seems like it wouldn't be very large from the pictures, but it is bigger than expected. A Large, Economy size bottle of shampoo like from a salon, or one of the larger volume bottles fit in the middle and top shelves just fine.
My worry when I first purchased this item was that I couldn't shift it around to make the suction cup hit right, but there is carved out slot that runs horizontally along the back, where the suction cup can slide left or right to make sure it hits properly on your shower tile, and not onto a crack or grout. It's the little touches like this that really make me happy I went for the more expensive caddy.
A lot of thought and analysis for a shower caddy, but if you're in the market for one, you're obviously trying to organize your shower to make your shower experience better. If you're going to expend the effort to organize your shower, why not make sure you find the right item? So far I have NO hints of rust from mine, and the bamboo shrugs water off like you'd expect. The only way this item could be better is a sale.

This is a very sturdy caddy that also add a natural feel to the bathroom.The only draw back is that it still slides down the shower head from time to time, but really I expect this with most caddys that hang from shower.I like that it has tow places to hang razors and a spot to put a bar of soap so that water does not pool around it.I enjoy this item!Save 22% Off

When I read the reviews for this product, one in particular talked about how bad the shower curtain stunk.And while I was apprehensive, I liked the product too much so I figured I would take a chance.Once the product arrived, I thought I was going to be kicking myself because it did STINK.Horribly.Like, I'm worried I might have cancer now from breathing the smell in STINKY.And although it was a horrifying experience and I'm sure the stuff I was breathing in is not good for me, I put on the bathroom fan and left the shower curtain up.After about a day or a day and a half, the smell dissipated and no longer exists.Now, my bathroom is smell free with a super-cute shower curtain!!!Overall, love the product, the color, the design.

Even after two weeks this curtain still emits a strong and nauseating chemical odor. That is a sign of VOC's (volatile organic compounds) coming off the product. These chemicals are toxic. Unless you do not mind being poisoned, get something else. If this company had any conscience, it would not make a product that emits such noxious fumes that poison people and the environment. Don't take my word for it. Do an internet search for VOC's and survey the science behind this. You will find objective empirical evidence that such chemicals are toxic. I've read some of the reviews for this before I bought it, and was a little worried. Yes, it does smell a little when it's first opened, but it really isn't that bad. It smells plastic-y, as it should. But it is so worth it. This is the happiest shower curtain I've ever had. It's obnoxiously yellow like in the picture, but just sheer enough so the light comes through it, which makes your bath tub seem kind of sunny. Also, the yellow submarine print makes me happy because I love the Beatles. I just got this curtain and I love it. It's bright yellow but in a bright cheery way. Not overly fluorescent.The curtain is no thinner than the one I had previously, which has held up for months. I was a bit rough with it while putting it up, as a test, and there was no sign that it was too fragile. I'll keep it updated.
The smell is nothing I would consider noxious. Its the same smell as any plastic shower curtain has. Not overly pungent.
