I am glad I only wanted these for hanging a light curtain from a bathroom window because the fronts are just glued to a heavy-duty wire hook.They do the trick, but they are a bit larger than I would have wanted, and for some reason they were dirty.I mean covered in dust, and the backs of the plastic part were still white with lots of lines and smudges from when the items were manufactured.And some of the hooks had glue stuck up on the wire where apparently someone had accidentally smeared it there and then not bothered to remove it.If I wanted this for a really nice bathroom that I was decorating to impress, I would have been very disappointed in these... They are ok if you are willing to put in a little extra work cleaning and polishing, but for $13 why should I have to do that?

Also because of that glued-on construction I would not recommend using these for a shower curtain.

These are very different from any shower rings I've ever had and are of high quality.Really pretty!

IKEA - DIGNITET Curtain Wire, Stainless Steel

Look, ignore the negative reviews. It's beautiful and it's cheap. Yeah, you have to do a little work. You have to screw the bases into the wall. They need to be screwed into something secure, not just drywall. There's going to be significant pull on the bases, and you don't want your curtains sagging! Hit a studusually about 1/2 inch out from the window edge. Mount the bases, then snap the covers over them. Mount them both first. Then extend the mechanism on the right side as far as it'll go. The instructions show how to do this, but it's easy even if you don't have instructions. There are 3 cylinders on the right side. The left one holds the wire, the right one is attached to the wall, and the center one connects them and tightens the wire once it's attached. The right piece isn't moving. It's screwed to the wall. Use the supplied Allen wrench to loosen the tiny nuts on the left side. Insert the wire. Tighten the tiny nuts onto the wire.Stretch the wire until it'll fit into the right piece with no slack. Having a friend helps here, but isn't necessary. Loosen the nuts on the right side, insert the wire, and tighten the tiny nuts again. Now hold the left cylinder so it doesn't turn, and turn the middle cylinder to take up the slack! Seriouslythey sometimes don't come with instructions. The "wire" is actually a thin, braided cable, so wire cutters are necessary to keep the ends from fraying. Frayed cable won't want to go into the holes. Don't be afraid of the installation processit's a snap.

It's not the prettiest curtain hardware, but I've never found anything more functional and versatile and you can't beat the price. I'm an urban renter, and when I move into a new place, I often like to install curtains in odd places to hide impromptu storage areas. This hardware will go absolutely anywhere, at any angle, any length. You can install it perpendicular to the wall or even from the ceiling. The curtain-clip feature is also quite versatile in terms of making my own curtains quickly and cheaply. I've had a pile of this hardware for several years, given it heavy use in a variety of applications, and it still looks and functions like brand new. The only trouble is it's pretty tricky to install. I've never been able to figure it out and have had to rely on the kindness of boyfriends to do it for me (really, IKEA, would it be that hard to put WORDS with your picture-instructions?!?). One time I lived in an old building with plaster walls rather than drywall, and the plaster stuck to the wall-mounts like crazy when I took it down. If you have plaster walls, be prepared to repair damage if/when you uninstall this hardware. (Also, the stuck-on plaster was impossible to remove from the wall-mounts until I figured out the solution: put it in boiling water for a few minutes!). The wire is rather difficult to cut, and I've had to purchase new wire when I've needed it to be longer than what I have left. Overall it's a great product, especially if you don't plan on having to install it more than once!

(Oh, and to the people complaining about having to buy screws separately: really?!? Different types of walls will require different types of screws, and you're whining about something that costs nearly nothing and is available practically everywhere).

When I was visiting my local Ikea store, I saw their use of this curtain wire set for the first time and I loved it. I have been looking for a way to display pics of my grandkids because the refrigerator is already maxxed out with magnets and photos. I saw great possibilities with this curtain-hanging set, so I bought it.

Somewhere on the package it reads, "Easy to cut." No way. It is difficult. The wire itself is made of many smaller wires rolled together, just like a basket handle or a rope.The first three sets of wire cutters I tried did not do the job. At first I thought it wouldn't make any difference if the wires at the ends of the "rope" were separated -thought I could twist them back together again, but I couldn't. I couldn't crimp them together, couldn't twist them together, so the "rope" would not insert into the tiny hole of the bracket. I had to recut the edges with great patience, cutting each single wire one at a time, twisting the "rope" gently so that the wires would not unravel or mangel.

Once that was done, the ends of the "rope" did fit into the small holes of the bracket. However, despite how I pulled the "rope" to tighten the slack, I just couldn't level it out. I tightened and untightened screws, and finally, after a couple hours of all this, I just gave up. After all, I told myself, this is only for a photo display.However, the length of my entire display is only 28". One could only wonder what would happen if you had to actually hang draperies from this wire set; seems to me that the slack would be awful.

The next day, I took the remaining wire "rope" to work to ask the head of maintenance to trim off the edges so that I could use it for a picture display in my office. He used two different sets of professional wire cutters with great difficulty, but finally managed to cut the "rope." At least it didn't take him the hours it took me!

That being said, I love the over-all look of my photo display; it will be very easy to change photos and artwork.

Since I am not using this wire set for draperies, but rather for photos, I give the set 4 stars; I am subtracting a star for the hours it took me to cut the rope correctly.There is a less-expensive version of this from Ikea, and if I had it to do over again, I would buy that one.

I used one of these to mount some cable equipment that is meant to be installed outdoors (strand mount).Did a FAR better job than my Home Depot hand-rolled solution.

I guess it would probably work pretty well for its intended purpose, too.

I just installed this today for a room divider in a small room. I used about 9ft of the wire that came with the kit and I have several feet left. The description states that you need to supply your own fasteners/hardware, so unless this addition was just made to the item description, no one can complain about this. I bought some #12 1 1/2" wood screws so that the heads fit into the pre-countersunk holes in the metal plates that you attach to the walls. One plate and three screws went into a stud and the other into a very smooth masonry wall with some Gorilla Glue. This Gorilla Glue works in *my* case I must have put about 15 lbs of downward pressure on it and for *me* it was fine, especially since less than 3 pounds will be hanging from it. I hate drilling through masonry walls in a rented house, and so this alternative works fine for me. The fact that the installation instructions are all pictorial was not a problem, the assembly was easy. If you're used to putting things together yourself, this is a simple project. The hardest thing is positiong the wire plates at either wall exactly where you want them if no studs are present. I don't want the wire to sag, so I checked for stud locations *before* ordering this, knowing that I might also have to use masonry anchors and screws. If you can't attach this to wall studs, you might just want to go with ceiling curtain rod brackets ad a very lightweight curtain rod (all of which Ikea happens to have for a lot, lot less than Home Depot).

If you want to be really cheap, twist two screw eye hooks into the wall studs (I hope they're directly opposite one another) and get some wire. But I do like the simple tension system with this set. The 17mm spacing they indicate you should use is good, especially if you're doing a long room and the wire tends to sag more during installation. With my 9ft room, I only needed about 10mm because my cut wire length was fairly tight to start. Better to cut off too little than too much you can always cut more off later.

A cordless screwdriver/drill and cutting pliers may be needed if you don't already have them.

We have been using these for nearly 10 years, ever since we moved. Another reviewer mentioned wishing that the holes were reinforced with metal, but we have never had a problem.

I wanted a less toxic solution. I was prepared to pay somewhat more for that benefit, and was thrilled that these are so inexpensive. We use these as our only shower curtain, and it nicely lets the daylight through. If you're the sort of person who uses a shower curtain with a liner, this would work great as the liner.

I bought multiple packages at once by going to Ikea in person. I have mailed them cross-country to a couple of relatives who could not get to an Ikea easily. As a homeowner, I also like having extra packages around in case I ever need a light-weight tarp or two on short notice to keep rain off something--you can run a bungee cord through to keep the wind from blowing it by using the existing holes on the top of the curtain, and a hole puncher to create a couple of holes on the bottom

I haven't purchased through this particular sales channel, so I can't evaluate that aspect, just the product.

In the past, I've preferred thicker, heavier shower curtains.But of course, those were big toxic off-gassers, so I would leave them outside for two weeks.

Thought I'd try this out and have been surprised.No odor at all and just thick enough (though much thinner) so it doesn't get sucked toward the running water of the shower.No reenforced grommets though the top has a special double layer with some sort of reenforced mesh and after 3-4 months, no sign of tearing whatsoever.

It's started to mold a little, but didn't expect it not too.Easy to clean so at this time, I'm probably going to stick with this type of curtain in the future.

This is a really helpful little gadget. It does not get in the way, but manages to keep out a great deal of water that otherwise would seep out around the shower curtain. The sticky tape makes for easy install. The only problem we encountered was with the tub, not the product. If your tub does not have a perfect 90 degree angle where it meets the wall you will have to add caulk under or to the side of the sticky tape to make full contact. I don't see how the product could be changed to prevent this extra step, so I feel good about recommending it to others.

I was amazed to receive this item and find that lower part of the guard was much narrower than a similar item, that I had boughten a few years ago at a bed-n-bath type store.This makes it less effective as a tub/shower water spill guard.

what can I say my wife and I both love this shower head. Installation took me 15 mins. Its convenient to have a hand held and regular shower head in one. I switch between the two during my showers. I note that several reviewers have downrated this item for leaking.I too on installation found it to have a severe leaking problem.After considerable frustrating investigation of the problem I found the solution.On the interior of the three way diverter where it attaches to the shower head there is a threaded piece that in my unit was not properly tightened as received.Tightening this piece with a large screwdriver or an allen wrench will solve the leaking problem.The inadequate installation instructions make no mention of this piece.

Therefore I consider this a 5-star product for which I deduct 2 stars for inadequate attention to assembly and installation instruction.

It is adjustable so it does not spray into the face, outside the tub, or onto the far wall. We all agree this creates the best shower experience we've ever had. We just received and installed this showerhead today, and it is exactly the type of innovative solution we've been searching for!We are extremely pleased with its fit, functionality, design and appearance, not to mention the extremely reasonable price!

As an older arthritis and fibromyalgia sufferer, I so appreciate the ease of use, the extra-wide spray of the showerhead, the variety of adjustments, and the lightweight design of the handheld shower.It is wonderful to be able to keep the hot water coming down and keeping me warm even while using the handheld showerhead, which also cuts down on the amount of bending and reaching. The spray adjustments are perfect for us; after half a century of living, one's skin starts becoming thinner and more fragile.We don't really need or want endless settings seemingly available on other models, including "pitbull", "jackhammer", "kung-fu kick" and oh, yes.... the invigorating "needles on steroids".The handheld showerhead will make it so much easier to take a quick shower, clean and properly rinse the tub; quickly and thoroughly rinse shampoo, conditioner (and haircoloring products) from thick hair; and even wash the cat! (She thinks she's a dog, so it's OK.)

We live in an older bungalow (built in 1915) in a rural area, and I worried that the showerhead would seem out of place, but that was not the deciding factor.We have a clawfoot tub with an oval shower-rod frame suspended from above, so it was important to find a showerhead that had the features we need and would enjoy, but one that would be lightweight enough for our current shower setup. None of the local stores had anything that would work out (too big, too heavy, only a showerhead with no handheld, or only a handheld with no overhead shower.) We would have preferred a longer hose, but this five foot one will be adequate, and the price really can't be beat. I really don't mind that it is made of plastic.Luxury, like money, is relative.When I was a little girl, my bathtub was a number 2 washtub in the middle of a room in a primitive homestead shack in rural Idaho. Washtub Oval 2.25 Gal By today's standards, I believe that all of Idaho at that time would be considered beyond rural.Still, it was wonderful to have a woodstove to heat the water my mother pumped by hand.

I believe that in most parts of the world today, this showerhead would be considered quite luxurious.I am thankful that I was able to afford this, I am thankful to be able to shop at Amazon.com, and I know we will thoroughly enjoy the luxury this awesome showerhead will provide.

I hope this review was helpful to you in some way, and I hope you will give this neat invention a try.I give it my highest recommendation to anyone who wants an awesome shower, especially for anyone with children to bathe, or who suffers from arthritis, fibromyalgia, limited range of motion, chronic pain, or who owns a cat that thinks she's a dog.Have a good one!

NOTE: I've added some pictures to aid in my review of this wonderful device.

Awesome shower head that is night and day difference over anything else I've used. During the holidays we got a cheaper detachable hand shower head that didn't fit well into our shower space (those types tend to sit high above the tub and have a flat, narrow angle, spray). Anyway, after some research we decided to replace that with this Peerless two in one since it seems like a logical progression from both the regular heads and detachable handheld heads. Installion was easy, but the washers which came with our kit was the stiff plastic types that allowed leakage and reduce water pressure. Luckily we had the sturdy soft-rubber washers at hand to use with this head. Also our kit came short one washer (only 2, instead of 3) and I wasn't sure if the idea was to not use washers on the 3 joints, but you NEED washers on all the joints or the pressure will be less and the joints without washers will leak.

That said, once the head was up and running I was very pleased with the pressure and especially the wide flow angle of the main shower head. The center hand head has all the luxury options for pulse, massage and criss-cross spray which was a coveted feauture lacked on our previous head. My one gripe was the plastic hose. Out the box it was stiff, coiled up and stubborn to hang down. After a steady flow of hot water thru it the plastic softened up and it eventually broke-in and hung nicely from the head (see pictures).

I would've prefer a chrome-metallic vertebrae-style coil (similar to the ones you see on public telephones), since the plastic tends to mildew easier than a chrome-metallic coil. Many cheaper hand held heads come with chrome-metallic coils so I'm not sure why Peerless would opt for an even cheaper plastic coil. That said, it is not a bad coil. The plastic is very durable and high grade, butit still is plastic. Also you can easily replace the plastic hose with a metallic coil.

Overall this was a great choice for the shower. A+

Kit comes with cheap plastic-like washers, get rubber ones and you'll get better water pressure, no leaks and be happier.

-Plastic hose should've been metallic chrome but that is my personal gripe as the plastic hose is still very good.

Those with shower caddies that hang from the shower head pipe may need to relocate these caddies or buy new ones that suction to the wall. The handle of the hand held part and the hose may possibly obstruct any caddies that hang there.

Those with tiny shower enclosures or very narrow tubs (less than 2 feet) may get spill overs as the spray angle of this head is wider than most normal shower heads.

Just got this from Amazon two days ago. Installed it with no tools and no problems. Simple and straight forward. I don't have good water pressure in my bathroom.This showerhead makes it feel like the pressure is much more.Best of the handhelds I've ever used. I've had the ones with one head on top of the other and the flow on this one is much wider. You can set the handheld part to several different sprays. I'd recommend it to anyone and would buy it again.

The rugs are cute as well. Only thing is that if they aren't washed on a regular basis then they will end up looking a little green since the blue is a little lighter color than the shower curtain. But they are still adorable and fit the set perfect.

Keep in mind that the title says 15 piece set, but the 12 rings each count as one. The rings are fabric covered too.

Recommend buying.

I ordered this black & blue zebra bathroom set for my main bathroom on Saturday and just received it today already!! it is beautiful! I am so glad I got it! It doesn't come with any other accessories other than the rugs and a shower curtain with the rings.. but I plan to just get black accessories so that there is not too much zebra print in there.

This shower curtain is very nice looking, but a little skimpy.The vinyl is a little thin, and the curtain is a little short it just barely clears the tub.

A very basic, classic look. Nothing fancy but just enough detail to make it a good design choice.The only thing I would have preferred is if the white fabric was not ribbed.Note also that the white is a very bright white, which I like, but may not be everyone's taste.

This is a good quality curtain, with a elegant ribbed texture to the fabric.However, when I hang it across my full bathtub/shower, it doesn't have the nice pleated effect you see in the photo.Given that it's an all-white curtain, it looks like I just threw a sheet over the shower rod.This would work great in a narrower, walk-in shower, or just opened partway across the tub.

Previous review was correct in that the width would be too short for an average tub. We have a narrow shower and the width is perfect. This works beautifully for us.

This curtain's fabric is a nice narrow pinstripe weave for texture with a very light sheen (not shiny, not entirely matte).The black border is sewn on rather than printed, and it's a nice weight so it hangs well.

The fabric unwrinkles after 5 minutes in the dryer with a damp rag to add a bit of steam, then it's ready to hang.
