Avanti Greenwood Bath Accessory

I ordered based upon the item description Avanti Greenwood, Soap Dish but what arrived was a toothbrush holder.And now whe I look at the actual picture on the item it is showing a toothbrush holder.I have no need for the item but I do not wish to only get1/2 of the cost back and pay for return shipping -

I searched all over for a good product.My mother had bought bathroom rugs and I had to decorate around them.The photos and descriptions were so good that I did not miss when the shower curtain arrived.It matched perfectly.It is beautiful, heavy duty and a very well constructed product.

Maytex Softy EVA 54 by 78 Liner Stall , White

Love the idea of non-vinyl shower curtain, but this was SO lightweight that the slightest breeze pushed the curtain in on me in the shower--even when I "stuck" it to the wall with water.Needs a weighted bottom hem.

This curtain was twice as big as the stall shower for which I orered it and I had to cut it in half and then because it was too long I had to cut it off.

Please carry an old fashioned stall (not for a tub) shower curtain or specify it is only for a tub.

I live in a rural area and shop with you because it is a long way to a store.

When I looked at the photograph of this liner, I think I see metal rivets, which is what I wanted.The shower curtain arrived and there are no rivets, just plastic.The curtain itself is fine, but the photograph and the description are very misleading.

I hope the liner doesn't tear; only time will tell.

No complaints at all. The product is exactly as described. We use it as the main liner for inside the shower with a cloth curtain for the outside of the shower. I refuse to pay anything above $15 for a plastic shower liner, so this is the perfect product for me.

This flimsy, thin shower curtain is not worth what I paid. You can go to the local dollar store and buy the same thing for about $2.

I got these and love them but unfortunately they came with 3 that had brown discoloration on the paint. I opted to keep them since Amazon no longer had then in stock at the time I called but I would of chosen a different package if I bought in the store. Worth the money if paint is perfect.

These hooks were just what I was looking for. There adorable, they got here before any other part of my order got to me, even before the stuff I actually bought from amazon, who would have thought it. The only thing I would have wished though is theywould have said in the description that they were ceramic.

We just purchased the black shower curtain to go in our gray bathroom and it looks great. It looks like it has a little bit of a shine to it, which adds to the sleek design. The main image posted on amazon is a pretty accurate representation of what it looks like. The fabric is decently thick so that it does not look cheap, but it is not too heavy for our cheap shower curtain rod (the kind that you twist to fit in between the walls). The pattern of squares can be seen from across the bathroom, so if you don't like that modern look, you may want to search for something else. Overall, we are very happy with this purchase.

Shower Organizer

Fabulous product. I swear I've tried every other type of shower organizer on the planet: they rust, they get yucky with soap scum and discolor, they fall off the shower head, the suction cups never hold...what a disaster. This one hangs easily/securely on your shower curtain hooks and stays dry, and you can just throw it in the wash if it gets dirty. I wish it had a few more deeper compartments though, but at least ones on it are large so you can put multiple bottles in each divider. No more hauling out 15 bottles when I want to scrub my shower...it just stays nice and tidy on the rod while I clean. Plus when guests peek into the shower it looks bare and clean, and they won't see your products unless they look up. Wonderful design and price, and I wish I'd discovered it sooner. :)

I bought this and the Maytex hanging mesh shower organizer since I couldn't make up my mind! I liked that the lower three pockets on this one were taller/bigger than the other model and that this one had hooks on the side to hang a shower pouf or whatever. BUT the mesh on this one is much poorer quality & kept snagging on everything I tried to put in there. Also, the holes on the bottom of the three larger pockets are so big that a small tube of shampoo or face wash will slide right through. The final strike against this product was that the holes at top where it is supposed to attach to your shower curtain are very small and would not fit over the small decorative ball on the shower curtain hooks that I use. I am returning this one and keeping the other.

I would recommend this product.It arrived quickly and was easy to install.It works great.

There are several companies making these type of curtain rods.My buying research indicates they all have the same design. The most basic difference is the color.I needed white so this one was an excellent choice for the price.

The mounting holes for all curved shower curtain rods need to be relocated a few inches further in.This means either covering up the old holes or replacing tiles.Some have covers on the mounting end that hide the mounting screws, this one does not.It is barely noticable and the screws are white.Some even have covers that are wide enough to hide the old screw holes as well. Those would be good if you did not want to replace expensive marble or had to replace a lot of shower rods at a time.I also found some that a separate pole for the shower liner but seems unnecessary unless you have a really wide tub rim.

I had a glass/tile drill bit so installation on my tile shower was very quick.I noticed that the mounting holes on all curved shower curtain rods are vertical to keep the rod upright so take that into account if you are thinking about using your existing mounting holes.

My new shower curtain rod look great and my existing shower curtain fits perfectly.It definitely eliminates water spraying out of the shower.It also gives you a lot more room while you take a shower.I have no problem using it to hang wet towels or drying clothes like i did with my old shower curtain rod.

Is it the cheapest curved shower rod out there? I think so. Is it the worst made?I don't know because I have only bought 3 in my life.This is on par with the one I bought from Home Depot for almost double the cost.I paid about $17 shipped and the one from Home Depot was $35.The build quality is the same, hollow aluminum tubes, as the home depot one but lacked a plastic washer which is not crucial to the installation.

Pro's:

Cheap and relatively easy to install

Once it's up, you can shower

Cons:

Lacks plastic washer to effectively seal the gap between the two poles once extended

Screws for securing the rod to the wall mounts was poorly constructed and took some cutting away to get it to screw in.

If the shower curtain is on the edge, it gets stuck in a small groove created by the rod/wall mount.Not a show stopper but it is annoying.

When you are 6'3", this is great for elbow room.Not difficult to install, cheap, looks fine, works fine.I'm very happy with it.

I bought this rod in the silver, however my review was removed, so I am putting it here. The rod is extremely flimsy. Also a gray, plastic screw is all that holds the rod to the bracket on the wall and I only received one. I have had an awful time trying to get the missing part from the Seller, burstein804. When I told him the part was missing he refused to send it until I removed my negative Seller Feedback. Then he continued to insult me telling me it "must be that time of the month". Product is not worth the money and customer service is non-existent! Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money or time on this Seller's products, all five of them!

But in fact it is EXTREMELY THIN & LIGHTWEIGHT.One good thing, however, is that there are metal grommets at the top of the liner, where it gets attached to the shower curtain.... So at least you don't have to worry about that part of it tearing easily.

It works nicely it has a philips setscrew that anchors a stiff coil spring at whatever length you set, so you can get whatever force is required to hold the rod in place.

There is such a thing as being "too flexible."This tension rod extends 28" to 38".Great.Now if only it would STAY at the selected length.

To set the length, lay the tension rod on a flat horizontal surface, slide the ends to the desired length, loosen the screw with a Phillips head screwdriver, slide the spring and screw to meet the end of the rod, then tighten the screw.

After two days of opening and closing your curtains, you can expect that the screw will have loosened and the curtains and tension rod will fall down.At that point, please repeat the procedure for setting the length and re-hang the curtains.

As a bonus, every time the rod comes down, the rubber ends fall off, so you can plan on spending another half hour or so hunting for the rubber ends beneath your refrigerator or couch.

I'm so excited that I bought five of these so I can keep doing this over and over and over again, nearly every day in fact!That is so awesome. (Note: sarcasm.)

easy assembly. and it works if assembled properly. two things though.... 1. i wish it had a plastic ring around the sharp edge so the curtain wouldnt get stuck on it. 2. if you do puchase this product and wish to use it, use a tiny piece of wax paper between the wall and the rod ends. makes for easier removal.... you know how stuff tends to get stuck to paint it's been there too long? other than that, it does it's job.

I originally purchased this at Bed Bath and Beyond; but while I am now shopping on Amazon for it's replacement I couldn't help but drop a quick review about why I need a new shower rod.This shower rod is the biggest piece of garbage on the face of the planet.For starters, it doesn't work!Put it up, it falls down.Put it up again, it falls down again.It's incredibly aggravating.On the off chance that it doesn't fall while you're actually showering, you'll be comforted to know that it makes such a loud crashing noise when it falls that you'll never miss a crash.That or your kids will yell "Dad, the shower rod fell again!".(Insert curse word here).If at least one person reads this review and chooses not to buy this piece of junk then I will have made the world a better place.As for Moen, from now on I'll choose another brand or do without rather than give them my business.

Several reviewers have said that they received a defective product.Add me to the list.

The tension shower rods that I've used in the past have all worked by the same mechanism.Those rods consisted of two hollow cylinders, one of which screwed into the other; by screwing or unscrewing the cylinders, I could vary the length of the rod.This design is functional, but it has two downsides.First, it can take a *long* time to expand or contract a shower rod, since you might have to rotate the bar a hundred times or more.Second, the shower rod can tend to slowly lose tension and unscrew itself over time, causing it to "walk" down your wall or fall down completely.

Moen attempts to work around these problems with a technology that they call "FastLock."The idea is that you can simply pull the shower rod out to the desired length, twist it a few times, and voila -it locks into place.

That's the theory, anyway.In practice, no matter how much I tried, I could not make the first shower rod that Amazon delivered to me lock into place.

The good news is that Amazon's customer service was, as always, excellent.They arranged for UPS to pick up the defective shower rod, and they shipped a new one via overnight mail.

But the second rod didn't work as intended, either.I extended it to the desired length, twisted, and... nothing happened.

After lots of fiddling, I eventually managed to make the second rod work.Here's how:I disassembled the rod by fully removing the narrower cylinder from the wider one.This revealed the FastLock mechanism:essentially, a rubberized, rotating device at the tip of the narrower cylinder that expands as you twist it.But in order for the mechanism to expand, its exterior first must "catch" on the inside of the larger rod using friction between the rubber mechanism and the metal shower rod.Unfortunately, the FastLock device was slightly too small, so it was simply sliding up and down the shower rod and never catching.

To fix the issue, I manually twisted the FastLock device several times, expanding it as much as I could while still leaving it small enough that it could slide back into the other half of the shower rod.I slid it in, twisted, and (after several rounds of trial and error) was able to lock my shower rod into place.

Right now, the shower rod is hanging securely, and it looks nice.But was it worth the grief?No way.I would not recommend ordering this product.The older, screw-style shower rod may have its downsides, but at least it worked reliably.FastLock isn't ready for primetime.

UPDATE:In my two months of owning this shower rod, it has fallen to the ground twice -in loud, disruptive fashion.At this point, even describing the rod as "functional" strikes me as too generous.Avoid.

So the title essentially covers it: AWFUL productpoorly designed, and the "FastLock technology" should be abandoned like the failure it is. Thanks to another reviewer, I finally tried pulling the two sections apart, manually twisting the black and white plastic inserts (counter to the 'righty-tighty' rule, based on the way the label was facing) until it was almost too big to fit into the other tube. Then I crammed them back together, put the rod where I wanted it, and then twisted it a little more to FINALLY lock it into place. This, btw, was only after fiddling with the stupid thing over a 2-day period before reading the reviewdescribing how to dismantle and tinker with it. A stinking tension rod SHOULD just be 'twist-and-lock', not endlessly twist until you're exhausted and then still have to take it apart and rig it yourself so you can actually use it. Now that it's up, it looks fine, but I'd never buy it again. (Shame on me, b/c I always read reviews, but this time I did not-when I came back to 'trouble-shoot' and see if I was the only one frustrated w/this junky product, I realized nope, not just me-I should never have bought this.)
