I was glad to find a shower curtain rod in Antique Brass finish--especially a well-made and adaptable one like this--to match the metal finish of the lighting fixtures in my bathrooms, and bought one for each tub enclosure. The surface of the metal has a handsome, brushed look.Functionally, the product is one rod telescoped inside another with a polymer washer in between. The more the rods are unscrewed relative to each other, the greater the overall length. This allows the product to span a wide range of tub openings and to tighten in the space. The metal surface is clear-coated to prevent marring and to allow the curtain rings to glide easier--and it works!A minor complaint is that the washer between the inner and outer rods, though ramped in shape, is a bit of an obstacle for the rings. The problem--such as it is--can be minimized by using roller rings Heavy Duty Polished Brass Roller Shower Curtain Rings Set of 12 RollerRingsTM, which are a good idea anyway, in my view.(Was unable to find rings in matching Antique Brass, but will keep looking.)Anyway, I'm satisfied with these shower curtain rods--they are a humble but still noticeable upgrade for the bathrooms.
