The first thing I noticed is that the hook is of high quality. I tried it on a standard shower rod that has spring tension (meaning the rod is thicker on one side than on the other side so you can adjust the length of the rod) and it fit both ends perfectly, did not fall off and still slid across the entire rod without a problem. One person said this Moen hook fit but would not slide on her shower rod; the reason is obvious, she has the newer modern thicker 1 1/8" rod. This hook DOES fit the newer rods but does not glide very well, if at all. On the contrary, my rod is from the late 1940's called an L-Shaped shower rod. It is just under 1" at 15/16 of an inch and this hook works great because it fits loose enough that the hook glides across the rod along with all the other shower curtain ring/hooks.

Points to know about the finish: The BRUSHED NICKEL FINISH is a true brushed nickel (in color) but the finish has a glossy sheen on top of the brushed nickel. Please note this hook is not a polished nickel and would not match your polished nickel very well. I have my entire master bedroom done in "Restoration Hardware" brushed nickel which is slightly more matte than these Moen hooks but still goes very well. I also have the Moen brushed nickel Towel Bar hooks which are exactly like the Moen Shower rod hooks except smaller. In addition, I have them hooked on my Restoration Hardware nickel finished train shelf and on my towel bars and you can not tell the sheen difference between the glossier Moen. The CHROME FINISH hooks match my chrome Restoration Hardware guest bath and the chrome's sheen is shinny like typical high quality Polished Chrome. Lastly, the OLD WORLD BRONZE is darker than the photo shows and might be hard to match with all the different oil rubbed bronze finishes out there. It is somewhat of a solid color where as most oil rubbed bronze finishes look more like a black that has rubbed off a little so you can see a little of the coppery color underneath, again this moen is more of a solid color ORB. If you are not looking for an exact match to your Oil Rubbed Bronze shower rod then you would probably be happy with this hook in Old World Bronze. I bought mine at a store like Marshalls called "Ross" for $3.99 and was able to see all of the finishes before I purchased them. I hope my details are helpful.

I love this hook.I lost my towel rack when I replaced my glass shower doors with a rod/curtain so I needed some place other than the back of the door to hang my bath towel to dry after showering.I placed the Moen Shower Hook on my heavy-duty, solid stainless steel shower rod and it stays put when it should but also moves with the shower curtain when I slide the curtain!And, it holds my thick bath towel!YES!I'm considering a second purchase for the hand towel that I use to dry my hair!For me, it's a winner.

We use this hook to hang a wash cloth from the shower curtain rod. It keeps the wash cloth out of the way, in a way that it can dry out before the next use. And it matches all our brushed nickel accessories. Very nice.

This little hook is very pleasing to the eye; and it clicks into place over

the shower rod/or towel bar. Simply, it stays put !!I just wish the curve to

the bottom of the hook, was a bit bigger. A wet towel can easily slip off;

the bigger and heavier the towel, the more easily it will slip off (especially

when the weight is increased from being wet). I seem to use it more to hang up

a travel bag/or a shower sponge (which wasn't what I actually purchased it for).
