Because this rod is adjustable-length, it is made up of two rod halves, a smaller one that fits into the larger one.The joint where these two halves meet is very pronounced, and was nearly un-usable with two different sets of shower curtain rings.

I put this up in March it's still looking good; no rust. Only downside...it didn't add a lot of room to a shower stall. If it was a larger stall it would have added more room.
