If you are wanting to have a seperate liner and curtain or if you are like me and want to have decoration and needing two rods for the bath/shower, then this is a great item.
It does not use springs and does need to be screwed into the wall. It adds a lot of class to the bathroom. Please remember, it is chrome so the wet, damp air or any water getting on it will cause spots but they can easily be dried off or use a dry towel to buff the chrome to a shine again.
It took me awhile to figure out how to put it up, and I am pretty handy and able to figure things out pretty quickly normally. The instructions were a little confusing, but after reading them a few times and doing "dry" runs, I was able to figure it out. Just take your time and do "dry runs" or practice putting it up to make sure you know what the instructions are telling you.
Even though the rod is sturdy and not too heavy, when you put on the curtains, liners, or whatever you are using for decorations, it can become slightly on the heavy side. If you live in a house or apartment that does not have wood studs where it needs to go, please be sure to use anchors and make sure they are good heavy duty anchors and not for lightweight hangings. I used a medium first but saw the curtains would have added too much weight so carefully took them out and used heavy. I had a multisize anchor pack and used the heaviest ones that came with the package. I also used the anchors screws instead of the ones included with the rod.
Also, if you are remodeling your bathroom and either do not have a shower curtain already up or do not have any marks as to the location of where to put the rod ends, do not just measure twice but also use a level bar. It helps to have someone else assist you so you can mark correctly so know for sure that the rod is being placed in the correct spot.
measure twice, check level, do dry runs (practice) and take your time and you will have a beautiful curtain rod that will help your bathroom go from dull and brab to shiny and brilliant.

Installation instructions and hardware are included to anchor the shower rod directly into a stud or into drywall using drywall screw anchors.Installation was relatively straightforward, but be forewarned that you will need a tape measure and a screwdriver (and a power drill and bit to make holes for the screw anchors, if installing into drywall).Yes, installation does take a few minutes, but I am glad that I no longer have to worry about a cheap spring-tensioned bar falling down on me in the shower with the slightest provocation.
On each end, the mounting brackets are attached to the wall with two screws, and the rod itself is held onto the mounting brackets with two set screws.Once installed correctly, the rod will stay put it easily supports a heavy shower liner and curtain on the inner bar and a full load of heavy wet cotton towels on the outer bar.I put some weight on the bar and I feel confident in its construction, though I would expect it would support less weight the longer it is extended due to the increased leverage of the supported load and the decreased internal overlap of the extended bar.
This shower rod is quite attractive, as I would expect for the price.The interface where the bars telescope is outfitted with a plastic ring that ostensibly helps to keep moisture out of the bar interior and prevents the bars from scratching eachother when telescoping.

I purchased this item April 2012, a bit heavy and clunky but hey overall the item appeared to be an attractive and well made looking item. During install I noticed there is no thought to how the set screws actually work. You need to bang the tabs of the receiving end in order to create a reasonably secure install that is flush to the shower jamb. The bracket that supports the outer curtain is not made to be used more than a few times per month. And when it fails the entire 6' bar will crash down and land on a toe or crack / injure a floor or tub. I attempted to repair this item with my own engineering when I noticed the "Chrome" was pitting enough to where it could not be restored properly. Stay home from this overpriced under-engineered gadget. This item will be junk in 6 months.. Spend a little more I guess DO NOT BUY their stuff -ITS JUNK. My toenail is split and looks like a heart. Dangerous and has no longevity at all.

I was looking for a double shower rod and found this one. I ordered the brushed nickel, which matches the bathroom decor. The instructions were easy to follow and made installation quick. I used a stud finder to locate the wall studs, measured according to the instructions, marked off for the brackets, ran the screws and attached the rods. Took me about 30 minutes from start to finish. The rods are study enough to hold the shower curtain, the shower liner and 2 large wet towels. It will probably hold more without any problem. Hint: I turned the lower rod to the inside of the shower. This puts the shower curtainhigher than the shower liner and hides the liner. Works great and gives the bathroom a finished look.

I wasn't sure about this product due to a couple of reviews. One review said it was bulky, well why would I want a flimsy product. And if it was in reference to the shape, it's a curtain rod in only comes in a few shapes. Any other shape and it would not be a curtain rod. I bought the nickel finished color. It was Ok in that I saw some plastic coating or something on it. I had no problems installing it. If you are handy you can do it. When it was up, it looked great. I am using them in my rental property. I spent a little more for the look and for the purpose of putting an opaque shower liner to hide how old the tubs are and to have something permanently mounted as opposed to the ones you spin to mount and they end up tearing up your wall. I liked them enough to buy for my other rental. So they get a 4 cause I like it. The finish could be a bit better quality.
