I ordered these thinking that the entire hook was made of stainless steel, but that is not the case. The hook portion is plastic, while just the decorative circle is stainless steel. We had purchased these because the previous cheap chrome hooks actually rusted and made a mess on our curtain rod. These do not, but they are not super high quality. However, we've been using them about a month and so far, so good. I was concerned that the hook would swing itself off the rod but they seem pretty sturdy. We put both the heavy fabric curtain and the plastic liner on the hook and no problems as of yet.
I wish I would have realized the hook part was plastic but that doesn't take away from the simple elegance of the button against the shower curtain!
