I installed this bathroom fan in an afternoon. The instructions were adequate, but I had to figure out for myself that the humidity sensor was not pre-installed and I had to do it myself after noticing there was no light. Also, there is no clamp connector where the wires come out of the unit. If you're installing this yourself you're going to want to use one (3/4" IIRC). This fan has two settings; humidity sensing and full power. We usually leave it on humidity sensing and it does a good job of getting rid of all the moisture (no more steamy bathroom mirrors). At it's lowest RPM the fan is VERY QUIET. As the humidity increases so does the fan speed, but even when it maxes out, it's easy to carry on a normal conversation and the noise the fan makes is not intrusive. The full power mode seems to be faster than the highest "humidity mode". It's louder still but tolerable. We've been using this fan for about a month and have no complaints.

I purchased this for our master bathroom that has additional insulation added and is very tight. I placed it between the neo-angle shower and the toilet so it picks up the moisture and any smells that are produced. And it works! With the hot showers that we take (water is at 145 degrees) we don't have moisture problems on the walls or floor. I did put on a time and we turn it on when we get in there even with it being an automatic on/off depending upon the moisture in the air. As we start to shower it is running at a low speed but when the moisture increases, the fan speed increases and keeps the steam from windows, mirrors, etc. After the moisture is lowered, it goes back to a slow speed and finally shuts off before the timer does. I had put the time on just in case this feature didn't work but turned out to be a waste of money. The fan does a great job and I would recommend it to anyone.

This fan is SO quiet that you don't even know it is on!When I looked at the picture, I thought the cover was a brushed nickel, it isn't, it is off white, but it looks good in my new bathroom.

I work on dehumidifiers for a living so humidity control is a big part of my life. After installing and applying power, I turned on the switch and a blue light illuminated. I turned it off and right back on and an orange light came on. The difference is the speed and control method. The orange light indicates full speed and noise which is tolerable at 1.5 sones. The blue light is the default position when it's been off for awhile. This is the humidity control mode. Normally it runs in an extremely low power state and very quiet. When it detects the moisture level is above 40%, it kicks the speed up to whatever is required to evacuate the moisture. I love it.

My only complaint is that for studs mounted at 24" apart, the fan is designed to be mounted in about the middle of that space. The fan I was replacing was originally mounted on one of the rafters. This required some modification on my part as the included hardware would not work properly and I didn't want to move my hole over 8 inches. Be prepared. Beyond that, it was easy.

When I was looking around at Lowe's and Home Depot and other places, most 130cfm fans were noisy and cheap or quiet and cost more than this. When I found this for less than $145 with tax I was happy.
